Harambee Schools Kenya (HSK) is a registered UK charity committed to making a difference in underserved Kenyan communities by improving educational opportunities. HSK was founded in 1999 by Rob Breare and Will Snell, who spent six months teaching in schools in Nakuru and witnessed first-hand the challenges affecting local educational systems.
Despite having no prior experience in running a charity, Rob and Will were determined to channel their on-the-ground experience and passion for education into establishing HSK.
In 2014, Rob and Will set up a dedicated board of trustees, marking a new chapter in HSK's evolution. Today, the charity is led by an on-the-ground team, an experienced board of international trustees, and a network of passionate volunteers.
At HSK, we are proud of our longstanding history of supporting rural Kenyan schools, and we are constantly striving to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and empower more children and communities to create a brighter future.
Our team, both locally and in Kenya, generously give their time and expertise to support our range of educational initiatives. It is thanks to their collective efforts and our generous donors that HSK thrives as a charity, driving positive change across Kenya's educational landscape.
Join us on our journey and help pave the way for a brighter future for Kenya’s children and communities. Together, we can make a lasting difference, one classroom at a time.
